Retail Marketing Northern Rivers

Here is a quick tip for northern rivers retail business owners… You need to create an opt-in email database!

I know a business owner in WA that did this for his Fish and Chip shop. The result was an explosion in his sales.

How did he do it?

He got people to visit his website and sign up for his FREE Newsletter. next, he would choose one person from his listeach week and give them a voucher for $50 worth of fish and chips.

He started sending out a list of special offers a couple of times a week with links to coupons people could print out from his site. He makes  dozens of extra sales each time he contacts his list.

It sounds so simple doesn't it?

Let's look at one more example. A few years ago I dealt with an Antique business. The owner had called me in response to a FREE Marketing Audit that my company was offering at the time.

She wanted to know how to increase sales. I asked her; "How many people walk through the doors each week?"

She immediately replied, "Over 1,000"

"Great! what are you doing to follow up on them?"

……………………………………?

"Ummmm… Nothing!"

I suggested that she hold a monthly prize draw for her opt-in email list (That she did not as yet have!)

"Make it a valuable prize - at least $500 to $1,000"

"And in addition to letting your list know who won each month, send out a weekly Antique Tips Newsletter that provides people with good information and TELLS them about new stock that you have just got into the store!"

The result was tens of thousands of dollars a month in extra sales. What are YOU doing to build a list and market to it with YOUR retail business?
